What is e top-up?

e top-up is a pin-less electronic top up system that provides real time top up of prepaid mobile airtime at the point of sale, without the issuance of any PINS or passwords. To access e top-up the consumer must provide to the Retail Agent at the point of sale, an account card or a mobile phone number issued by the mobile operator. The Retail Agent will swipe the account card or key in the consumer's mobile number through the e-pay Terminal with the desired top up amount. Within seconds from completing the sale, the consumer's mobile telephone will receive a SMS text confirming that that the top up has been successful with the purchased top up amount credited.

Consumers are allowed to recharge any amount (flexi deno) through e top- up services. ( currently available for celcom recharge only ) This pin-less reload method is widely used in U.K. prepaid industry and e-pay Malaysia introduces its first e top-up reload service in the country in November 2003 with celcom.

How e top-up works?

First, consumers are required to give phone number or e top-up card ( e-pay issue free e top-up card to consumers, to request for e top-up card, please contact our customer service hotline at +6-03-5636 6922) to the retailers at the point of sales. At the same time, specifying the denomination required.

Retailers will then swipe the e top-up card through e-pay terminal or enter the phone number provided by the consumers followed by the denomination required.

Within minutes, a short message (sms) will be sent to the consumers' mobile indicating that the top up transaction has been topped up successfully and the denomination purchased have been credited to the consumers' account. All these happen in seconds.

Malaysia largest coverage telecommunication company, CELCOM is currently offering its flexi deno top up services through e-pay e top-up technologies and its called 'Celcom Easy Recharge'. Consumers can top up from as low as RM3.00 to RM49.00.
