Pos Malaysia Bhd has extended its collaboration with e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd (e-pay Malaysia), an electronic prepaid solutions provider, to enable its customers to purchase prepaid reloads at over 900 post offices and mini post offices nationwide.
Post Malaysia chairman Datuk Abdul Majid Hussein said the partnership would enable Pos Malaysia to tap into over 17 million prepaid mobile users across the country.
“This is part of Pos Malaysia’s goal to have a customer-focussed culture and to fulfil our vision to be a customer centric organisation and provide quality and value-added service to out customers,” he said at a signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur yesterday between the two parties.
The services available include prepaid reload for Maxis, Celcom and Digi users, payments for prepaid long-distance call iTalk and Ring Ring, MOL epoints, pay-television MiTV, as well as TMnet and Jaring Internet access top-up.
e-pay Executive Director Datuk Hassan Said said its pilot project with Pos Malaysia, involving 50 post offices in Klang Valley since November last year, had generated monthly sales of about RM150,000.
He expects the alliance with Pos Malaysia to contribute between 5% and 10% to its revenue over the next six to 12 months, and achieve sustainable growth in the long run.
“Assuming this is rolled out to the 900 post offices, that comes to millions of (ringgit) in sales value. It is a multiplying effect,” he said.
The alliance expanded e-pay’s points of sales from the existing 9,500 to over 10,000, he said. e-pay Malaysia is a subsidiary of e-pay Asia Ltd, dual listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and the Alternative Investment Markets of London Stock Exchange.
