Press Release

New Straits Times- Thursday 15 November 2001

GUARDIAN Pharmacy has always been one of the perennial favourite stores to browse and shop for health and beauty products.

Now, it adds more convenience to your shopping experience by offering a one-stop reload service for prepaid cellular subscribers and selected International Direct Dial (IDD) brands in the market.

This was made possible by the recent smart partnership formed between Guardian Pharmacy and e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd.

e-pay is unique electronic top-up (reload) solution reputedly vast acceptable in the United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia.

It provides a One Stop Prepaid Reload solution to all prepaid cellular operators namely Hotlink (012), Digi Prepaid Plus (016), Celcom Prepaid Mobile (010,019), Speek (019), intm (013), MobiAccess (018) and TimeCel (017).

Its unique top-up solution has also been embraced by Mimos (for Jaring Jet coupons) and major prepaid IDD operators such as Digi Chatz, Celcom World Connect, TimeKontact, Flexicall and iTouch Global.

Guardian Pharmacy chief executive officer Helen Aw said: "With 80 outlets by the end of this year, we are excited about being a major partner of e-pay to provide this one-stop prepaid reload service.

"The introduction of e-pay's menu of prepaid reload services in our stores is in line with our commitment of meeting our customers' extended needs as they manage their busy daily lives".

Apart from Guardian, prepaid cellular users will also spot the distinctive e-pay sign in all major shopping complexes, petrol kiosks, convenience stores and mobile phone outlets.

e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tony Soh said: "We will continue to strengthen our distribution and today with this smart partnership with Guardian, we actually register another milestone in building our wide distribution network throughout the country."
e-pay currently has approximately 1,600 retailers nationwide.

At the launching ceremony of the smart partnership, Soh took the opportunity to announce e-pay's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status, an accolade awarded to the company a month ago.

Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd account manager Carmen Thong was present to hand over the MSC Status Certificate to Soh and e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd executive director Hassan Said.

The launching ceremony was attended by e-pay (M) Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Dr Abdul Khalid Sahan.
